You Can Be Anything You Want to Be in Life!

I don't care about your background, class or current financial situation.Just know that you can be anything you want to be in this life.On June 19th when I added another year,I had cause to reflect on my life,I sat down to look at my transformation from the poor girl to a journalist (who interviewed the likes of General Babangida and his wife,Maryam) and now,an Internet Marketer.I realised that at every point in time,I made a conscious decision to achieve that status and worked hard for it.I know you seem a bit lost,so,let me go back into memory lane.
I was born in Ghana to the Adeoye family,a semi-literate one.I am the fourth of five children but from day one,I determined to be literate even though my parents were semi-literate and they were willing to sponsor our education to University level. For my primary education,I attended Cambridge Preparatory School in Korle Gonno,Accra. For me secondary,I attended Accra High School and I must say this School influenced my life a lot.For starter's,the motto of the school is 'Redimentes Opportunitatem'-a latin phrase meaning-make hay while the sun shines. This greatly influenced my actions then and even now as I always strive to do things as at when due. So,whatever you are doing today, please make hay while the sun shines.
It was while I was in Accra High School that the seed of becoming a journalist was sown. There was this career lecture that was done when we were in Form 3.The lecturer talked extensively about the different career choices available to us and one of the careers happened to be journalism. There and then,I made up my mind to become a journalist.I passed out of the secondary school and in January 1995,my parents asked me to come to Nigeria.Settling in Nigeria,I tell you was not easy at all.I remember the first day when I wanted to enter a bus,I almost fell down because in Ghana,a bus will wait for you to enter, not the way we jump into buses here in Lagos.I am not saying this to deride Lagosians but to tell you about my struggles to adapt to Lagos life, although,I have come to get used to it over time.
My brother started the process of registering me for JAMB,while that was going on,a family friend introduced us to Nigerian Institute of Journalism's evening programs. The idea was to keep me busy while I process my JAMB.So,I enrolled for the Diploma in Public Relations' course.Although I was doing well in the course,I was not happy,I wanted to join the Journalism class. It was not easy changing but I was determined and I even lost the 6 or so months that I spent in the Public relations class as I was told I have to start afresh. It didn't bother me however, because I had the dream of becoming a journalist.I graduated after 2 years and then got a job with City People. This job,no doubt, exposed me to the creme-dela-creme of the society and the height of it was when I got an interview appointment with General Babangida and his wife.Everybody in City People respected me after then, but there was still this nagging feeling, this feeling of emptiness that I had not yet started fulfilling my purpose in life. So,in August 2007,I decided to throw in the towel, even though everybody felt I was wrong.I just had the conviction that that was the right thing to do.
Prior to that time,I had started my Internet business, attended Dr Ojeagbase's Internet boot camp and was doing it on a part time basis. Then,I used to call myself an employee by day, entrepreneur by night. Those were really heady days as I will not sleep for days but I knew what I wanted,so,I did not mind the sacrifice.Fast track 2008 and I am on my own as an Internet Marketer.Only God knows what I will become next but I have told my story above to encourage you that you can be anything you want to be in life.It doesn't matter where you are coming from,it doesn't matter who you are,it doesn't matter where you are presently, you can be anything you want to be in this life.
Nothing can stop you,YOU have all it takes to achieve your dreams. As you go through this week, affirm it to yourself, tell yourself 'I have all it takes to achieve my dreams,I can be anything I want to be in life' and I tell you,the Lord who made my dreams come true, will make yours come true.Nothing is too great for you to achieve, there's no mountain too high for you to climb.Or have you not seen the new Peak Milk advert? It says the peak is in you.

Weakness turned to Strength

I was reading through one of the pages of “The Word for Today”, a quiet time booklet. At the end I was inspired by the write up on Charles Steinmetz, one of the founders of General Electricity, so I thought I should share it here on my blog site.

A grindstone can make a diamond shine or reduce solid rock to dust. It depends what you are made of. Charles Steinmetz was made of the right stuff. Crippled from birth, he was so short in stature that he looked like a dwarf. His mother died before he was one year old. His father was poor but determined that young Charles would have education. Charles couldn’t run and play games like the normal boys, so he made up his mind to devote himself to science. He set his goal: “I will make discoveries that help other people.” When Charles immigrated to the United States he couldn’t speak a word of English. His face was swollen from the cold he endured on the boat passage. His sight was defective. His clothes were shabby. The Port Authorities were tempted to return him to Switzerland. But he stayed and found a job that paid him $12 a week. There he showed amazing abilities. The infant company, General Electric, quickly realized his incredible potential. His career was marked by unparalleled research and development.

Charles Steinmetz died in 1923, but this was written about him- “He had the mind of an angel and the soul of a seer.” What did Charles Steinmetz have? The overcoming spirit! Do you have it? If what you are doing doesn’t produce resistance, it’s not worth doing. Those who have succeeded today are described has turning there weakness to strength. They became strong in battle. What turn weakness to strength? It is faith that refuses to back up, back down, or settle for less than what God has promised.

Be inspired be motivated. Go start something new.

There is Something Special in You.

Deep down in you are something special. Special in the sense that you can make a difference that will change your life and the life of others positively and make the world we are in better. You all have heart desires, dreams or goals. You want to live in good houses, drive the latest car in town, travel round the world. But these things don't come easy. Many of you are so shrouded in frustrations and routines of daily life that you do not know what to do to accomplish your desires.
There is something within you, something special, an unlimited power to start something new. It doesn't matter what your background is or what you are going through. You can make a difference.Anthony Robbins in his book titled Awaken the Giant within, he said " I've come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I now enjoy."He also mentioned something in his book which motivate me.As a Young kid then and with nothing but a high school education, he made a dramatic change which change his life and the life of others. You may ask how?He learned to harness the principle he called concentration of power. He explained further- Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can command when we focus all our resources on mastering a single area of our lives. Controlled focus is like a laser beam that can cut through anything that seems to be stopping you. When we focus consistently on improvement in any area, we develop unique distinction on how to make that area better. One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular. In fact, I believe most people fail in life simply because they major in minor things. I believe that one of life's major lessons is learning to understand what makes us do what we do. What shapes human behaviour? The answers to this question provide critical keys to shaping your own destiny.
Mr. Anthony Robbins is an extraordinary successful entrepreneur.During the past decades more than a million people have benefited from his audiotapes, videotapes, and books.I believe if he can make it, I can make it, you too can make it also.Go start something.
